Review: Central German Bus Day 2026

Reliable information at the stop determines passenger satisfaction

The line 3 bus pulls up, the doors open, and the passenger boards relaxed. He arrives at the office on time, without having doubted for a single minute along the way. This was possible because a display at the stop told him exactly what he needed to know at that moment.

Moments like these occupied us on November 4 and 5, 2026, at the H+ Hotel Leipzig-Halle. Networking and digitalization were the focus of the Central German Bus Day: How does real-time data reliably reach the stop, and how do new systems fit into existing infrastructures? Equally important was the question of how visible passenger information is. After all, only information that passengers can grasp immediately, even in difficult lighting conditions, truly helps them.

Two display solutions, one goal

With these solutions, we demonstrated at our stand how reliable passenger information can be implemented at stops of any size.

RGB LED displays: full-color, high-contrast, in real time
With a resolution of 448 x 128 pixels, the display shows fonts and graphics in full RGB color. Real-time information remains high-contrast and easy to read even in direct sunlight.

ChLCD displays: autonomous for stops without a grid connection
The ChLCD display is designed for smaller stations. It only requires energy when the image changes; static content remains visible without power flow. This makes operation with a battery or solar module possible even where no grid connection is available. This allows stops that previously had to do without dynamic information to be equipped economically.

Both variants can be integrated into existing systems.

Key takeaways

For us, the Bus Day was more than just a specialist conference. We had space for personal exchange with bus operators and network providers and gathered many suggestions. Two questions were particularly frequent: Which stops require new information systems, and how can real-time data be optimally integrated into existing processes?

Our thanks go to everyone who took the time for a conversation with our colleague, Uwe Kiefer. We will take the results and suggestions forward into our projects over the coming months.

Focus on your stops

Which stops in your network are currently still without real-time information?

Please feel free to send us a message, and we can look together at which solution fits.
